Established in 2001 by our Founder and CEO, Catherine Boakye, Mangotree Kids is the UK's first inclusive educational toy brand. From the beginning, Catherine's mission has been clear: to empower children through the celebration of culture.

The inspiration behind Mangotree Kids came from Catherine's own journey as a mother of two. Spotting a critical gap in the market, she set out to solve a widespread lack of diversity in toys and educational resources. Catherine wanted to create a world where black and brown children could see themselves positively represented in the toys they play with, and where all children could learn about the beauty of different cultures and backgrounds.​

Driven by a passion to ensure her own children and all children could develop a strong, positive sense of identity through play, Catherine built a brand rooted in culture, learning and love.
